TransCOR: Translational computing solutions in cardiology

Artificial intelligence (AI) tools can assist cardiologists in making more informed decisions based on patient data. However, their use for clinical decision-making is still in its early days. For widespread adoption, AI tools will need to demonstrate a significant improvement in patient outcomes (e.g., improved quality of life, improved treatment benefit, reduction in hospitalization time or readmission rates). This, in turn, will only be possible with the availability of high-quality imaging data from which to derive reliable cardiac measurements for subsequent diagnosis.

We propose a vendor-neutral web-based platform that agglutinates data management and AI tools to:

1. Collect high-quality ultrasound imaging.

2. Automate the extraction of cardiac measurements relevant to diagnosis.

We have previously focused on the research and development of the first prototype of our product. The focus of this project will be to implement key steps to significantly increase the TRL of our asset, towards stages 6-7, thus achieving a full pre-commercial prototype of our software platform.
